What fees and charges do apply? (Republic of Ireland only)


The Current Account transaction fees and service charges outlined below apply to transactions and services provided via Bank of Ireland 365. Full details of our fees and charges are contained in our brochure 'Schedule of fees and charges for personal customers', available from any branch or on www.bankofireland.ie and www.bankofireland.co.uk.
Personal New Current Account Republic of Ireland
Option 1 - Pay as you Go* 28c per debit or credit transaction
Option 2 - Flat Fee* €11.40 per quarter (up to 90 debit or credit transactions). Transactions in excess of 90 cost 28c each.
Other Personal Current Account
Automated Transaction Charges - debit or credit on the current account 24c each
Standing Order Set up €3.43 each
Standing Order amendment €1.33 each
Business Current Account
Automated Transaction Charges - debit or credit transactions on the current account 24c each

* If you have more than 40 transactions per quarter, the quarterly fee of €11.40 is the better option for you. You can, however, switch between the two options at any stage by contacting the branch. The change will take effect from the beginning of the next fee-charging quarter.

International Money Transfer Charges (via Bank of Ireland 365) (Republic of Ireland only)
Bank of Ireland (InterPayplus) charges - applicable to all accounts
Transactions in euro to EU Member State with IBAN & BIC* No charge
Other payments without FX conversion (e.g. Euro to USA) €12 each
Transaction with FX conversion (e.g. US$ to US) €5**


*Plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
** For an initial period it is intended that we will not apply the €5 charge on transactions destined for countries within the EEA in their local currency (e.g. Sterling to UK,) however the relevant foreign exchange rate will apply. This position is subject to change.
You will be advised of the Bank of Ireland charge for your international money transfer on the payment confirmation screen before you authorise each transaction with your 365 PIN. This charge is in addition to the relevant current account transaction fee, if applicable.

Are there any concessions available on international money transfers? (Republic of Ireland only)


Customers with a Golden Years or 3rd Level Student Current account will receive a concession on the Bank of Ireland charge for international money transfers.

What foreign exchange rates apply? (Republic of Ireland only)


Foreign exchange rates are based on current market rates. They can differ with the various products. The variations take account of the domestic and foreign costs involved. You will be advised of these charges on the payment confirmation screen before you authorise the transactions with your 365 PIN. Also current rates for low value transactions are displayed on the branch notice board and quotations for larger value transactions are available on request.

Are there any other charges? (Republic of Ireland only)


Unusual and Costly Transactions charges / Account Administration charges (€33 per hour) may be applied for non-routine requests involving significant workload. You will be notified of these charges in advance or at the time of request.

Out of pocket expenses may also apply, where relevant.

What fees and charges do apply?


The Current Account transaction fees and service charges outlined below apply to transactions and services provided via Bank of Ireland 365. Full details of our fees and charges are contained in our brochure 'Schedule of service charges', available from any branch or on www.bank-of-ireland.co.uk

Customers who keep a minimum of £250 in their account in any Charging month* qualify for free banking. When the account falls below the £250 minimum balance threshold for all or any part of a charging month* the following transaction charges apply.

Monthly Account maintenance charge £2.50
Automated Transaction Charges - debit transactions on the current account £0.39 per item
Automated Transaction Charges - credit transactions on the current account £0.39 per item

Freeway Current Account


When account exceeds £50 overdrawn in any charging month*, a monthly maintenance charge of £6 will apply for the whole or any part of the month during which the account is overdrawn
